Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is likely to make two changes for his team’s Champions League quarter final first leg against Porto on Tuesday.
Left back Andrew Robertson will miss the game at Anfield due to suspension, meaning that utility man James Milner will almost certainly replace him on the left hand side of the defence.
Naby Keita showed some real signs of life in the victory over Southampton on Friday, but given captain Jordan Henderson’s game-changing display off the bench he will likely get the nod over the Guinean in central midfield.
Those will probably be the only two changes that the German makes for the big European contest following a solid team showing at St Mary’s Stadium last time out.
Alisson is the undisputed number one at Liverpool and has enjoyed a tremendous debut campaign for the club; he will almost certainly start between the sticks on Tuesday.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will surely keep his place at right back with Milner needed on the other side of the defence, while Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk are expected to continue once again at the heart of the defence.
In central midfield, Fabinho will likely start in the holding midfield role considering his fine recent form. Henderson, as mentioned, will surely take Keita’s place, with Georginio Wijnaldum a dead ringer to keep his place alongside them.
It almost goes without saying at this point, but Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are all expected to keep their places in the Reds’ attack.
